Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is "Give environment morecare". I’d like to talk about some global environmental problems, share some ofmy stories and show you some data in my speech.
At the beginning, I’d like to ask you a question. Has your hometown’senvironment been polluted, if it has, raise your hands please? (Thank you) Letme give you an impression of my hometown. That is a small village of Yunnanprovince. There are many mountains, forests and rivers. If you go there, Ipromise you will be amazed by its beautiful landscape. Because you just cantouch the nature with your fingers and feelings. You can enjoy the blue sky,flying birds, waterfall, amazing sunset and many other sceneries. When I was ateenager, I often climbed these mountains and jumped into clear and clean riverfor a swim with my peers. However, after my graduation from high school, I cameto Beijing for college. I found something different. Because when I raised myhead, the sky’s color was not blue, but yellow. When I looked down, dirty andpoisonous rivers are full of unrecyclable rubbish and giving out unpleasantsmells. When I looked forward, so many people wore their mouth masks. Everyonehere complains weather and environment. It seems so inharmonious between man andnature. Why?
As we know, in the past few centuries, human have made countless remarkableachievements in science and technology to explore the mysterious world better.Conquering nature with powerful tools, people have achieved material prosperity.Meanwhile, environment has been badly damaged. So a series of severe problemscome along, such as species extinction, energy crisis, incurable diseases, thethree main pollutions etc. All of these factors bring our beautiful planetdisasters, humanity as well. Let me show you some statistics. According to thereport from World Wide Fund for Nature, the species of entire world havedeclined by 52 % since 1970. That means about 75 kinds of precious speciesdisappear forever from the Earth each day. In addition, scientists claimed thathuman now need one and a half Earth to meet the demand for natural resources.Another frightening data from the UN in 20__, there are almost 8.4 millionpeople around the world who die of cancers caused by environmental issues everyyear. It is so horrible, isn’t it? Man has taken too much from nature, also paidsuch a heavy price for it. If we don’t try to change these situations, what willhappen one or two centuries later?
But, fortunately, the majority throughout the world are aware of thesignificance of environmental protection. Much many individuals,environmentalists and organizations have taken actions spontaneously. Companiesdonate part of their profits to support some green projects. Moreover,Government has carried out many policies to conserve endangered species, supportgreen industries and encourage people to live a green life. From a globalperspective, though it is a long journey to make the Earth recovered and to livein harmony with it, I do believe that, with everyone’s efforts, we will finallyget there.
Ladies and gentlemen. For ourselves, for our children, and for all humanbeings, by the end of my speech, I do hope you can keep the following words inmind ---- The nature’s prosperity is humanity’s prosperity. Caring environmentis caring human’s future. Lives need be valued by us, nature need be respectedby us, and the Earth need be loved by us, please give them more care. (Thank youvery much. The protection of the environment is getting more and more attention.However, I find that there are many uncivilized phenomena on our campus. I sawpeople spitting on campus, people throwing rubbish, and people destroying treesand breaking flowers. How dangerous these uncivilized behaviors are to theworld! If everyone spit and throw rubbish, how dirty the road is! If there wereno trees and flowers, would our earth still be able to live? So, protecting theenvironment, we should start from every little thing around us.

Our environment is very important for our lives . We need the fresh air,the clean water and so on . In the past, there were many trees around us ,theair was fresh and the river was clean.But now,people cut down many trees. Airpollution and water polloution are very serious . The environment around usbecomes very terrible . We should protect our environment. First, we shouldplant many trees to keep water. Second , we can ride a bike or walk to theschool and work.. Third , we shouldn’t throw the dirty water into the river .Fourth, we shouldn’t use the plastic bags. Finally, we can ask more people tojoin us.

水深藏于地底下的岩层里、在天然蓄水区里. 从真正的意思上说，是水维持着地球的生命。
世界的最后一滴水将是人类的眼泪。我们中国是12个贫水国之一，由于人们的浪费，水源越来越少了。
但是生活中还有许多浪费水的现象，比如;有些小朋友买来水枪到处射水，还有一些学生洗完碗或洗完手，都不关水龙头，浪费了许多水……最近云南贵州高原那里长时间持续干旱，使那里居民生存面临着严重威胁，针对这个问题，我们中国13亿要养成节约用水的意识。因此，我现在向大家呼吁：‘‘珍惜每一滴水，让地球妈妈不再哭泣。
In recent years,protecting the environment is becoming more and moreimportant to the whole human beings.
It is everyone's duty to do someting good to the environment around us.Asmiddle school students,we can also do a lot of helpful things.For example,we canprotect it by not throwing rubbish away.We can save water to make full use ofit.We can use materials which do no harm to the enviornment.Thingd we can do area great many.Only when we have the idea of loving our environment can we make abetter place to live.

近年来，环保越来越受到全人类的重视。
保护好我们周边的环境是我们每一个人的职责。作为中学生的我们，也可以做许多有利于环保的事。比如说，我们可以避免到处扔垃圾。我们可以节约用水，并且充分利用水资源。我们还可以使用不破坏环境的材料。我们可以做的事很多。只有我们有了环保的观念我们才能创建一个更好的生活环境。
所以，大家行动起来吧!
